Personal data we collect about you

We may collect, use, store and transfer the following kinds of personal data about you, when you submit it to us:


 

  • Email communications: If you get in touch with us by submitting a message through our website Contact form, we will record your first name, last name, email address, phone number and any message you send.

  • Marketing and Communications Data: If you sign up to receive the Colombo Street Newsletter, we will collect your email address.

  • Reservations data: If you book a table with us using our online reservation form, we will record your name, phone number, party size, booking date and email address.

 

Cookies and Website analytics

We use cookies, which are small text files that are placed on your computer when you visit. We do this to make our website work more efficiently and to promote our news, products and services on social media. 

 

We use Google Analytics to track and analyse web traffic in order for us to improve our website and provide us with essential marketing data (e.g. number of page views to our site in a month). Only anonymous data is stored and we take care to avoid any personal data being sent to Google Analytics. We collect this data under the “legitimate interest” lawful basis.

 

How we use your personal data

  • Where you have consented (subscribed) to receive email marketing communications (the Colombo Street Newsletter) from us.

Your communication preferences

The Colombo Street website offers an email Newsletter Subscription service, allowing users to voluntarily sign up to receive information about the Colombo Street programme. If you subscribe to these updates we will collect your email address. By submitting the Newsletter subscribe form you are subscribing to the Colombo Street newsletter, your information will be securely transferred to Colombo Streets’ marketing platform, Mailchimp. 

 

If you have previously subscribed, you can use the Unsubscribe link at (at the bottom of all Newsletters) to opt-out of receiving further Colombo Street Newsletters from us. You can update your preferences at any time.

 

If you Unsubscribe from the Colombo Street newsletter, we will keep a note of your email address and your request so that we can make sure you are excluded from future Newsletters.

 

Sharing your personal information

We will not pass on your personal data to any other third parties without your consent unless the law requires us to do so. 

 

If we buy or sell any business or assets in which case we may disclose your Information to the seller or buyer of such business or assets

 

Colombo Street facilitates online event registration via our website and on occasion third party websites such as Street Food Market providers. Personal information may be collected via event registration forms and the type of information collected will vary. We may share registrant information with third parties in association with the event such as event organisers, however we will never pass your details to third parties in order for them to contact you without your express consent.

 

How we protect your data

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. 

 

We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.

 

How long we keep your data

We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for.

 

We will actively review the information we hold and when there is no longer a customer, legal or business need for us to hold it, we will either delete it securely or in some cases anonymise it.

 

Your rights

You have the right to request access to, and update or correct, personal data held by us. You can email our Data Protection Officer at info@colombostreet.co.uk to exercise this right. We aim to respond to any requests for information within one month and will make corrections based on your updated information. If the request is particularly complex we may have to extend this period to three months, but we will notify you within one month if this is the case.

 

Where we process personal data based on consent, for example our Colombo Street Newsletter, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link which we include in all our Newsletter emails.

 

As well as rights of access and amendment referred to above, you may have other rights in relation to the personal data we hold, such as a right to erasure/deletion, to restrict or object to our processing of personal data and the right to data portability.

 

If you withdraw your consent, we may not be able to provide certain products or services to you. We will advise you if this is the case at the time you withdraw your consent.
